STEAM MAKE CHANGE IN GOAL

Official Release: November 6, 2014

The Summerland Steam announced a change in goal on Thursday afternoon. The team has announced it has traded goaltender Alex Kong ('97) to the Abbotsford Pilots in exchange for Future Considerations. In 4 starts and 2 relief appearances with the Steam this season, the 17 year old Burnaby native compiled a 2.22 Goals Against Average and a .902% Save Percentage while picking up 3 wins. The organization would like to thank Alex for his efforts and contributions both on and off the ice this season and wish him the best of luck with his new team.

In the wake of the trade made Thursday, the Steam have signed Penticton native and former Princeton Posse goaltender Spencer Huff ('96). Huff spent the 2013/14 and the first part of the 2014/15 season in the Similkameen and compiled 34 games of KIJHL experience that he will bring along with him to form a tandem in Summerland with Brett Huber. Huff will join the team on Thursday and is expected to be available when the Steam host the Golden Rockets on Friday night.
